My Moonface

I had read The Faraway Tree when i was in the 6th standard. I always remembered Moonface - with the round smiling face, going 'ooble ooble' when he ate toffee. Really cute.

Flash forward 12 years and I was sitting at my weekly choir practice and.... I saw Moonface walk in. At least that's exactly what I thought when I saw him. The guy looked exactly like Moonface only with a mop of curly black hair on his head.

It's been 4 years since then. I am going to marry him next year. My Moonface, smiling down on me. Making me laugh no matter what. So much more cheerful than I am.

Enjoying the threads

What is being grown up anyway? At 15 i thought that 18 was grown up. At 18 I thought that I'd feel really old at 21. And now at the age of 26 I feel just the same as i felt at 14. In fact, I'm having a lot more fun than I ever had at 14.

Many people tell me that our childhood is the bet time of our lives. Somehow, i disagree. Why exactly is it considered to be the best time?
Because we don't have any responsibilities?
Or because we are still walking around with the wool pulled over our eyes not understanding the realities of life?

Since many people i have met reply that it's because they were so 'carefree' , I think that the above - mentioned reasons hold true.

Me - I love this time of my life because my eyes are wide open. Understanding ourselves and life makes us feel more at ease with the way things are. And it's only past our childhood that we really start to do that.

Of course some are still walking around in the dark. A second childhood. :-)
